Firesmart Lake Sonoma Community Workshops

Like you, our perspective on fire was forever changed last October.

In partnership, Ag Innovations and Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) are organizing a two-part workshop series called “FireSmart Lake Sonoma” about living with fire in the Lake Sonoma Watershed.

Find out more about the project and workshop details, including essential resources here.

We invite all those who live or work in the Lake Sonoma Watershed to our two-part FireSmart Lake Sonoma workshop this summer.

First, we invite you to one of our community workshops in your home region of Lake Sonoma to create a shared understanding and strategy for fire management among your neighbors.

Together, we will spend the morning exploring the current state of land management: Have you cleared defensible space around the structures on your property? How do you manage your forests? What is your understanding of emergency management services? What kind of collaboration do you want to see in your community? At noon, we’ll stretch our legs, eat lunch, and spend some time getting your input on draft maps of your part of the watershed. Then, we’ll spend the remaining portion of the day on a site walk led by experts. We will bring maps, coffee, and lunch to you.
