Sonoma FSA Hosts Successful School Food Workshop for Food Day
Oct. 2011 Sonoma County FSA hosted a free School Food Workshop on October 25 for Food Day, which provided a review of best practices, networking opportunities with local farmers interested in selling to local schools, menu and recipe ideas. Over 70 people attended the training, including parents, food service directors, superintendents, teachers, and more. The moderator was Alliance member Lisa Preschel of the School Garden Network, and the event was co-hosted by Santa Rosa City Schools. Special guests included Chef Josef Keller of La Provance and Josef’s, Diana Abellera of CAFF and the Santa Clara County FSA, Quang Dang from the National Policy & Legal Analysis Network to Prevent Childhood Obesity, as well as over 10 Sonoma County farmers.
