CRAE Leadership Summit

Jun. 2012 The California Roundtable on Agriculture and the Environment hosted their first ever Leadership Summit on June 1, 2012. The Summit brought leaders of CRAE member organizations together, along with other appointed representatives to set a course for effective collaboration into the future. Held in the Governor’s Council Room at the State Capitol, participants heard an inspiring morning keynote address from Secretary of the California Department of Food & Agriculture, Karen Ross, followed by facilitated discussion among attendees. Throughout the morning, participants shared objectives and concerns, and identified strategic areas of common ground between environmental and agricultural groups. Nancy McFadden, Executive Secretary for Legislation, Appointments, and Policy with the Office of the Governor, gave a lunchtime keynote on Ag and Environmental Cooperation in an Era of Fiscal Constraints, setting the tone for the final discussion focused on next steps for CRAE.
